YOURS Truly has got the dirt — literally!
Blabber got his hands on the infamous list of public bathers, but a juicier story has temporarily hijacked the “vashambi” expose.
Fear not, gentle reader, for the tale of our city’s most ‘adventurous’ bathers will be told another day.
It seems”vashambi”has become a clan in our city. Yes, you heard that right! Vashambi is now a clan, and Mushambi is a member.
Just watch the space!
Back to serious business of the day.
While hiring top talent is essential for driving business success, it is only the first step.
Paying employees, a competitive salary and bonuses is important, but it is not the sole guarantee of productivity.
To truly unlock your team’s potential and foster long-term loyalty, it is crucial to treat them with respect, kindness, and dignity.
By doing so, you will create a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and growth, ultimately leading to increased productivity and retention.
Renowned entrepreneur, Sir Richard Branson once said: “Clients do not come first, employees come first. If you take care of your employees, they will take care of your business’ clients.”
This wisdom is particularly relevant to some employers in our city who will do well if they prioritise their staff’s wellbeing.
Blabber is not surprised that some businesses have learnt this lesson the hard way.
A notable example is a local fuel dealer who gained a reputation for mistreating her workers.
Now, her once-thriving business is struggling to stay afloat.
This cautionary tale serves as a reminder that neglecting employees’ welfare can have severe consequences for a company’s success.
At one point she abruptly fired five employees without explanation, sparking outrage among her staff.
One disgruntled former employee, still reeling from the sudden dismissal, ominously warned her — you will be soon out of business.
Prophetic words indeed.
Today, our once prominent fuel dealer, who once boasted a portfolio of reputable service stations across town, is now struggling to make ends meet.
For now, Blabber will set aside other allegations of uncontrolled sexual appetite surrounding her personal life and focus on the issue at hand — importance of treating employees with respect and dignity.
Period!
However, that does not mean Yours Truly will not talk about that anytime soon.
Just as this female fuel dealer was ill-treating workers, another city business leader has caught Blabber’s attention.
A prominent uptown property manager, who publicly professes strong Christian values and devotion to the Pope, has a questionable track record when it comes to treating staff.
Rumour has it that her sharp tongue is often the reason behind a steady stream of hirings and firings.
She is always insulting workers, not to mention about her own daughter. This is the reason why she does not see eyeball-to-eyeball with her own offspring.
Her grandchildren do not even know the love of their granny, and roam around the streets like street kids.
Can someone teach this rogue senior citizen a lesson in empathy and effective leadership.
It is astonishing that someone who claims to uphold strong Christian values cannot treat their own employees with basic dignity and respect.
After all, these workers are the backbone of her business, and deserve to be treated as human beings, not mere commodities.
Perhaps it is matter of ethics and principles, but Blabber is shocked to learn that the same lady, a mother as she is, employs her own son, but in a shocking display of exploitation, she withholds his salary for her own benefit.
This level of exploitation is staggering, and it is even more disturbing, given her pretentious display of kindness at church. Those who know her behind closed doors, however, paint a vastly different picture.
Blabber could go on, but the message is clear — treat your workers with the dignity and respect they deserve.
No amount of superficial kindness can make up for the harm caused by such blatant exploitation.
I rest my case!
