SOUTH African pop duo, Blaq Diamond, is set to perform at the upcoming July Fest in Zimbabwe after being welcomed warmly during their shows last year in Harare, Bulawayo and Gweru.
The duo of Ndumiso Mdletshe and Siphelele Dunywa is hailed for representing the new school of young entertainers.
“We want them to have a feel of Kadoma’s hospitality along with Ammara Brown, Nutty O and Uncle Epaton,” said events manager, Kudzai ‘Dee Nosh’ Matonodo.
“I am always in touch with the guys and they were humbled by the hospitality they received in Zimbabwe.
“As such we decided that they come back to Zimbabwe and meet their loyal fans at another level.”
The inaugural July 23 Fest comes at a time when local events coordinators are reviving the culture of festivals.
“Festivals are very important in marketing artists as well as identifying new talent.
“In this case, we are simply promoting young talent from various genres where they will also get a chance to exchange notes with their South African counterparts.”
Matondo, who also offers consultancy services, says the Kadoma July Fest will go a long way in identifying new talent.
“We are calling upon aspiring musicians, promoters and scouts to come and witness this festival.”
Fans will fork out US$5 for the ordinary ticket and US$15 VIP.
The festival aims to promote young talent from various genres and facilitate exchange with their South African counterparts.
