‘Blatter must quit’

RIO DE JANEIRO. — English football has declared a political war against Fifa president Sepp Blatter — demanding he quit, branding football’s ruling body “a suspect organisation” and saying his claim racism was behind World Cup corruption allegations was “offensive and totally unacceptable”.
Dyke told Blatter to his face at a meeting of Uefa associations in Sao Paolo that his leadership and the barrage of allegations of corruption swamping the international game — particularly those surrounding Qatar 2022 — are staining the reputation of the game. And David Gill, the former Old Trafford chief executive, now FA vice chairman, told 78-year-old Blatter he should quit rather than stand for a fifth term as president.

Dyke said after the meeting: “What Mr Blatter said yesterday I found offensive. I said (to him), ‘I regard the comments you made yesterday about the allegations in the British media in which you described them as racist as totally unacceptable.” — Daily Express.
