Blatter to attend Caf congress

JOHANNESBURG. — Fifa president Sepp Blatter is set to attend the 37th Caf Congress that will take place on April 7 in Cairo. Blatter, who is seeking a fifth term at the helm, will attend the congress a month before the World governing football body’s presidential elections where he is seeking re-election.

Caf has already declared they will vote as a block and has thrown its weight behind the third longest-serving head on footballing history after Jules Rimet and Joao Havalange.

He will be expected to reaffirm his support and align his plans with the continent in a bid to win the elections up against Fifa Vice President and Jordan FA supreme His Royal Highness Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, Luis Figo and Dutch FA President Michael van Praag. — Supersport.com.
