THEY want to fill up Chibuku Stadium in Chitungwiza tomorrow and we can only wait, watch and hope their dreams will come true at this all-night musical extravaganza.
It’s refreshing that this is coming to a stadium which, in recent years, has made headlines, for all the wrong reasons, including being used as a car park.
Jack Radics Entertainment, the promoters of the all-night gig, feel they have made their homework and are promising a fun-filled day which will, cater for the entire family.
Music and events for the young have been slotted for the afternoon before the show goes into another gear with the all-night music concert for the adults.
“It’s a cocktail of activities never done before in Chitungwiza where we begin around 9am with fun, especially crafted for the children, and the elderly,” said Jack Radicks.
“This involves colour run, horse rides and jumping castle.
“So, here we are saying mwana wese, baba vese and sekuru nambuya vese.
“Come midday, we get straight into the main menu with the Zim dancehall performances carrying the programme into the wee hours.
“Mark my words, Chitungwiza is going to awaken from a slumber and roar into life.
“When all has been done and it is over, the town will never remain the same.”
With the exception of Hwindi President, the line-up has the crème de la crème from Chitown who include Dadza D, backed by his Colosal live band, Guspy Warrior, Lady Squanda, Master H, T-Flexx, Templeman and MC Mashasha, among others.
From Harare comes Kinnah, Killer T, Freeman, Silent Killer, Jah Signal, Tipsy, the Chill Spot Family, Merciless, and many others in an arrangement that bears all the makings of a clash of the two urban set-ups.
In a video clip posted on social media, in which he also paid tribute to Jack Radics the organiser, Godfather Templeman labelled the event the ‘biggest show of all-time.’
“I can’t wait. Remember kuChitown ndokwangu, aya ma1 aya team rangu,” said the reggae deck master in the clip posted from an airport in Dubai.
Dadza D, still riding on a wave after the success of his hit single Vauya Mukoma, spoke of his homecoming, which he said has been long overdue.
“I miss you Chitungwiza, magarisaka? Time yafamba but I will be there with my live band tichiputitsa mangoma.
“Plus, kuri kutonhoraka … Fire Colosal iri kuuya nemoto,” he said.
