Bloody foetus dumped

Pumula East residents in Bulawayo woke up to a shocking sight after one of the residents stumbled opon a baby foetus that was dumped in a bushy area near their houses.

A bloody foetus was found near a section of Island houses in Pumula East last Friday.

In separate interviews residents expressed shock and anger.

Beula Moyo, a resident said the heartless woman should be put in prison.

a�?I think the heartless woman who aborted and dumped the foetus here should be arrested and sent to jail because what she did is inhumane and she also deserves to die,a�? fumed Mrs Moyo.

Thabani Mhlanga, another resident said abortion was not the answer because there were other options.

a�?She should have taken the baby to an orphanage home where the baby was going to be raised properly than to abort,a�? said Mhlanga.

Contacted for comment councillor for the area Clyton Zana said the matter was being handled by the police.

a�?I received a report of a foetus that was dumped in my area and the issue is being handled by the police due to that I cana��t comment further because I dona��t want to jeopardise their investigations,a�? he said.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Precious Simango also confirmed that the police were working on the matter.

The police are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of the woman.
