THE Bulawayo Motoring Club will hold the ever popular Sound Off and Car Show at the Victoria Falls Road Racing Circuit on Saturday.
BMC vice-chairman Zane Shah said because the event is open to the public they are expecting many people to take part including locals and foreigners.
“Sound Off and Car Show is a general public event not restricted to racers and we are expecting more people to participate this time around. We are also looking forward to having participants from Botswana,” said Shah.
Shah said the sound competition would have six categories namely the eight inch, 10 inch, 12 single, 12 inch double, 15 inch and Open Class depending on size of the sub-woofer. He also added that a decibel (DB) instrument will be used to measure sound pressure level and the woofer that records the loudest sound will be declared the winner.
He said cars would be grouped into six categories, namely vintage or classic, saloon, customised, sports, bakkie or pick-up cars and the winners would be selected by a panel of judges unlike in previous competitions where the public voted for the victors in each category.
Winners from each category will receive personalised trophies and certificates.
The event is supported by Colour World and Winning Designers.
Shah said entries are still open but they expect lot of competitors from Bulawayo and Botswana at the social event.
Participants will be required to pay $10 entrance fee before the beginning of the show.
