AFRICA Challenges champion Andrew Chamunorwa is expected to participate in today’s BMX racing at Old Georgians Sports Club.
The six-year-old feels he will give tough competition to the rest of the participants.
The riders are expected to host a competition tonight to boost their fitness and jumps ahead of the UCI BMX World Championships set for next month in Antwerp, Belgium.
The World Championships will run from July 21 to 25.
Chamunorwa feels he will do well in tonight’s race which he is also using as part of the preparations for the tour of South Africa.
He has won 50 medals and 30 trophies in the sport and is among the 13 riders who will take part at next month’s World Championships.
Chamunorwa, who stays in Mabvuku, said he is very ambitious and loves racing.
“I am glad that we are going to South Africa so that we can improve on our jumps. The track which we are going to use will help me because we will be doing the ‘key one race.’
“I believe the race tonight will be exciting because our fitness has improved. Since we have a big competition coming ahead of us, we are happy to have a competition every weekend,” said Chamunorwa.
The riders are set to race in eight categories this evening.
