Bongani Fassie in drunken rampage

Bongani was arrested in the wee hours of Friday morning after an alcohol-fuelled brawl with hip hop artistes Vuyile “Akonvict” Jukuda and Liso Ngema in Rosebank, Jozi.
To make matters worse, Fassie was also charged for drunk driving after being found to be sozzled to the marrow of his bones.
The two say they were on their way to board a metered taxi in Oxford Road when they               saw a speeding silver Audi A3 jumping a red robot.

“We were in the middle of the street when we realised that the car was heading towards us,” says Akonvict
He says the car nearly knocked him down but he was saved by Ngema, who allegedly pushed him aside.
He says Fassie stopped and got out of the car and started swearing at them.

“He said ‘I’ll knock you off you a**holes’. He then drove off and jumped the next red robot, with police watching. Police gave chase and he made a U-turn and came back to us,” Akonvict says.
He says Fassie then got out and went to the boot of his car.
“One of the two ladies in the car advised us to run because he was fetching his gun, but we didn’t,” says Akonvict.

He says Fassie punched him twice in the face in front of the police.
“I could have retaliated hard but I respect the law and the police who were at the scene. I also didn’t want to sink to his level of stupidity,” says Akonvict.
Ngema says they could have easily beaten him since they were five and he was with only two women.

“It took about 10 minutes to cool him down. He confessed to the police at the scene that he was drunk and they took him to Parkview police station,” says Ngema, adding that Fassie caused a scene when he arrived at the police station.

“He was aggressive. They took him to Hillbrow  police station, saying they wanted to take his blood for a test.
“They came back with him around 7am,” says Liso.
Police spokesperson Captain Pinky Tsinyane confirmed Fassie’s arrest. She says he was released on Friday evening on an undisclosed amount of bail.—Sunday World.
