BONVIE Medical Aid Scheme has launched Bonvie International, a cross-border healthcare plan targeting Zimbabweans living in Botswana and South Africa.
The initiative seeks to ease healthcare burdens for the Diaspora community at a time when access remains a critical issue across the region.
“This is not just about expanding our footprint. It reflects our determination to enhance healthcare accessibility for all Zimbabweans-no matter where they reside,” said Mr Maxwell Revai, board chairperson of Bonvie.
The new plan offers comprehensive cover including hospitalisation, emergencies and repatriation.
“We are now bringing healthcare to over five million Zimbabweans in the diaspora who are ready for a solution,” said Bonvie managing director Mrs Thembi Ncube.
“It is a borderless healthcare solution.”
Bonvie is partnering with Abovax and Behealthi to make quality care affordable and accessible.
“Healthcare is a team effort. This partnership is geared toward correcting the low medical aid coverage in our region,” said Dr Molikane Masenya, chairperson of Abovax.
The service allows Diaspora members to care for loved ones back home through formalised, efficient health plans, reducing reliance on emergency remittances.
“We want to help Zimbabweans stop waiting for a crisis to act,” added Mrs Ncube.
“Now they can invest in peace of mind.”
