The life of Walter Lambert Dehwe Muparutsa was full and rich, and a true example of dedication, commitment, selflessness, courage, passion and love.
He was an award-winning actor, writer, director, producer, and promoter, “an out-and-out craftsman for stage and screen” — an iconic, larger-than-life figure in Zimbabwe’s film and theatre world.
Literally to his last days he was singing in his home church choir, busy with Global Arts activities, a key figure in the Chimanimani Arts Festival, and arranging with
Pamberi Trust to launch a series of plays at the Book Cafe.
Walter touched lives all over Zimbabwe, in communities, churches, associations in arts development, and the arts and culture industry was enriched by his life’s work, which also reached into many parts of the world he travelled.
The gathering on Friday 18 will bring together friends, family and arts associates, who are expected to pay tribute to his life and work.
Several partners have helped to make the event a reality through their generous contributions.
