CIVIC society organisation, Larche Zimbabwe House, has promised to continue empowering people living with disabilities.
Larche Zimbabwe House leader, Kumbirai Mangwanda, said there are a huge number of people with disabilities in need of empowerment.
“We teach people living with disabilities to work and empower themselves through different projects.
“We celebrate the unique value of every person and recognise the need for being there for each other.
“Our mission is to expose gifts and intellectual capabilities of people living with disabilities.
“We also want to foster an environment that responds to the changing needs of our members in communities, while ensuring that they do not face any challenges.
Mangwanda said there was also a need to embrace diversity and foster unity in the process.
“We also run workshops for core members and assistants.
“These include lessons in crafts and therapy.
“It is also the country’s duty to value and celebrate the diversity within our communities.”
He said the major challenge faced by people living with disabilities is failure to perform tasks on their own.
“This affects our business because people do not understand that people living with disabilities need enough time to learn and implement.”
