Harare City, chaired by former Premier Soccer League secretary general Leslie Gwindi, locked Highlanders out of the stadium on Friday afternoon forcing the visitors to train on dusty grounds outside the match venue.
As if that was not enough, on match day, the team bus was locked out of the venue for more than 30 minutes and when they were eventually allowed in, head coach Kaindu was further humiliated when he was asked to produce his identity particulars.
Upon getting into the dressing room, the team found pieces of black and white cloth and white powder strewn around.
“This is rubbish and one would not believe it if you were not at Rufaro Stadium but I personally witnessed it because I was also kept out for close to 10 minutes and already the team bus was outside. As a club we will make an informed decision on the way forward after our executive meeting,” said Dube.
Coach Kaindu was also not amused by the dirty tactics employed by Harare City ahead of the match which ended 0-0 and saw Bosso maintain their unbeaten run after 19 games and still with a chance of landing their first league title since 2006.
“I commend the boys for the good performance despite the frustration. I must however warn our opponents that the more they do funny things like that the more we will become stronger,” said Kaindu.
On the championship charge, the Zambian said the race was still wide open.
“We are building a team that must win things and a good team does that,” said Kaindu.
The draw saw Bosso’s eight point lead reduced to six by arch rivals Dynamos, who have two games in hand, after the Glamour boys pummelled city rivals Caps United 3-0 at Rufaro Stadium in what should clearly spell doom for Makepekepe.
Caps United are in fact firm relegation candidates together with Gunners, Hardbody, Blue Rangers and Quelaton, with talk in the capital already saying that if they get relegated they should go to the Eastern Region Division One league because the Northern Region is too competitive for them.
Caps United are 12th with 19 points, a point ahead of Gunners but technically, the Taurai Mangwiro-coached former cup kings have 16 points since Motor Action have appealed to the Zifa Appeals committee over the decision to award Caps the three points earlier in the season.
It never really rains but pours for Makepekepe as they are yet to celebrate a goal in 270 minutes but have conceded six goals during the same period.
“It becomes more painful when you lose to your bitter rivals by such a margin,” coach Mangwiro said after the match.
A win for Dynamos against FC Platinum at Rufaro Stadium tomorrow will bring them just three points behind Amahlolanyama in what is slowly becoming a two-team race although Monomotapa have emerged as the dark horses. Monoz shocked Moneybags FC Platinum 3-0 in their own backyard at Mandava Stadium on Saturday, a result that further fuels speculation that the team could just be too big for Tendai Chikuni and a loss tomorrow might mean that his days in Zvishavane are numbered.
The team has been performing badly since the departure of championship-winning coach Rahman Gumbo and the situation seems to be getting worse by the day.
They remain on seventh position with 29 points.
Chicken Inn ended their two-game winless run when they beat Shabanie Mine 2-1 in an exciting match played at Luveve Stadium.
They are now tied on 32 points with the Luke Masomere-coached asbestos miners.
Quelaton remained rooted at the bottom of the log following their 0-0 draw against visiting Buffaloes at Luveve Stadium.
