Mystery continues to swirl around Highlanders Football Club after key disciplinary documents vanished again, this time under suspicious circumstances that have rocked the Bosso secretariat to its core.
At the centre of the scandal is the chargesheet for finance officer Sihlalisiwe Mnkandla, who was suspended in November 2023 over allegations of fraud and insubordination. But just like a magician’s trick, the paperwork keeps disappearing from the club’s offices at Number 50 Robert Mugabe Way.
Club chairman Kenneth Mhlophe confirmed on Wednesday that the chargesheet had gone missing for the second time.
“I am disappointed that for the second time the papers have gone missing, disrupting attempts by the club to deal with the issue. Something is wrong somewhere and it has to be attended to in our office,” fumed Mhlophe.
Mnkandla, who returned to work in February after being reinstated by the courts due to Bosso’s failure to hold a hearing, remains a thorn in the club’s side as disciplinary action keeps hitting a mysterious brick wall.
The first chargesheet reportedly disappeared during the tenure of the late CEO Sihlangu Dlodlo. The latest vanishing act occurred this year while Brian Moyo was in charge.
Adding to the drama, several other club finance documents are also believed to be missing, triggering fears of deeper rot in the system.
Despite the chaos, Mhlophe said a disciplinary committee is now in place and vowed that the hearing will go ahead once fresh charges are drafted.
Something fishy is happening at Bosso HQ and the paper trail keeps going cold!
