NGEZI Platinum Stars were given a guard of honour by Highlanders and Manica Diamonds as Ngezi captain Qadr Amini took to the podium to lift the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title spoiled by their 0-1 loss to Highlanders at Barbourfields yesterday.

Going into the match at Barbourfields, Ngezi were already confirmed 2023 champions a feat they achieved with two games to spare and they were set to be crowned champions.

Since 2006 it was the first time the trophy entered in Barbourfields stadium, but unfortunately not for Highlanders.

Youngster Prince Ndlovu scored the solitary goal in the 20th minute.
