A Harare woman will perform 175 hours of community service for lying that she had five years’ experience through a recommendation letter.
Moreblessing Kamusupani (39) was convicted on her own plea of guilty by Harare magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa.
Kamusupani falsified a recommendation letter that she had more than five years’ experience in a leadership role when she had only held a similar post for just eight months.
The single mother of two was arrested and brought to court by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission.
For the fraud, magistrate Gofa considered that there was no actual prejudice to the employer.
In her ruling, the magistrate wholly suspended the three months sentence she handed to Kamusupani on condition that she performs community sentence.
Prosecutor Ephraim Zinyandu appeared for the State.
