THE build-up to the highly anticipated Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash between Highlanders and Scottland on March 30 has seen tensions rise, particularly after Scottland FC owner Pedzisayi “Scott” Sakupwanya boldly predicted a 4-0 thrashing of Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium.

While Sakupwanya’s confidence in his team’s strength and ambitions is undeniable, Bosso fans have been quick to respond.  George Sibanda, a long-time Highlanders supporter, dismissed Sakupwanya’s prediction with a firm stance.

“What Scott is saying will never happen at Barbourfields. I am predicting a 3-0 loss for his team. Their defence is shaky and we will capitalise on that. There is no way we are losing to them,” said Sibanda, speaking with the typical boldness of a Bosso fan.

Gift Zulu, another Highlanders fan, shared a similar level of confidence in his team’s performance.

“We have a young team, which is now finding its rhythm, therefore you can rest assured that there is no way we can lose 4-0,” said Zulu.

Chankee WeBosso, known for his witty takes on Bosso-related matters, offered a more sarcastic remark.

“They are allowed to dream,” he quipped, mocking Scottland’s overconfidence and suggesting that the 4-0 prediction was an overly ambitious fantasy.

However, John Tigere, a fan of rival team Dynamos, shocked both sets of supporters with his unusual view on the game.

“It’s a potentially exciting game and for the first time, I would want to see Highlanders winning. For some reason, I’m rooting for them,” Tigere admitted, signalling that football rivalries could at times give way to respect and unexpected alliances.

Despite the passionate responses from Bosso fans, the bold words of Pedzisayi Sakupwanya continue to reverberate.

In a viral video, Sakupwanya not only predicted a 4-0 victory over Highlanders, but also expressed confidence that Scottland FC would finish in the top five this season, eventually aiming for the championship next year.

“People are underestimating us because we’re coming from Division One, but we know what football is like. Anything can happen,” said Sakupwanya.

While Scottland’s fanbase grows, Bosso continue to take pride in the club with a rich history and commands the biggest following in the land.
