HIGHLANDERS starboy Mongameli Tshuma missed a sitter in the second that capped up a frustrating afternoon for Bosso at Barbourfields yesterday.
It also ensured Ngezi Platinum extended their unbeaten run in the league to 13 games.
Again Bosso were let down by their infectiveness in front of goal.
The chief culprit this time Mongameli.
Having beat several defenders, the midfielder, instead of unleashing a shot at goal, he chose to try and dribble his way into the back of the net and was eventually blocked much to the frustration of the Highlanders fans.
Fans also vented their frustrations over some of the substitutions made by coach Benjani Mwaruwari. “In the last game l made substitutions and it worked perfectly. This week, maybe, l made bad substitutions but l am also human,” said Benjani.
Ngezi Platinum coach, Kumbirai Mutiwekuziwa, said: “It’s a point gained for us given the opponents that we were facing, which are Highlanders here at Barbourfields Stadium.
“Also taking into consideration the form Highlanders have been in. I am proud of the performance of the boys.” For the better part of the match, the odds were in favour of Highlanders, whose attacking plot was consistent but, lacked the killer instinct.
The home side charged in the first minute, earning a corner kick, off a good run of play from Darlington Mukuli. The effort from the corner kick yielded nothing. Mongameli had a quiet stint in the first stanza. Then came a moment that brought Highlanders fans off their seats just two minutes short of the hour mark. But, this time, Mongameli could not be the hero.
