Bosso get ultimatum

HIGHLANDERS have been given until the end of the month to settle their arrears with former player Masimba Mambare or risk losing their property which was attached on Wednesday.

Mambare attached the property after the Premiership giants failed to honour their pledge to settle the $10 000 they owe the player in outstanding singing-on fees.

The attacking midfielder joined Highlanders in 2012 to 2014 but contends that his signing-on fees had not been paid.

The former Motor Action player approached the Labour Court where he won the arbitral award.

On Wednesday, Mambare attached the luxury bus, a minibus, office furniture, which includes chairs, desks and computers as a way of forcing the club to pay.

The Footballers Union of Zimbabwe are representing the player in the dispute and have now given Bosso up to the end of the month to pay.

Paul Gundani, the FUZ secretary-general, said they have since released the minibus in the spirit of fostering relations with the team despite the current standoff.

“At the moment we have released the minibus so that the players at the team are able to go for matches and training and do not paralyse the team.

“We cannot attach all buses because that will end up affecting our colleagues,” said Gundani.

Bosso were ready to pay $6000 now and then settle the balance later, but Mambare has insisted on full payment.

“So we have given them up to July 31 to make the full payment or else they risk losing the property,’ said Gundani.

It’s understood that Bosso are now hoping to aggressively market their home match against Dynamos at Barbourfields so that they can raise funds to pay Mambare and save their bus from going under the hammer – Sportszone.
