Bosso offload players

BULAWAYO giants Highlanders have offloaded gangly forward Cleopas Balotelli Dube who has found a starting place at the club a little bit difficult with only a few cameo appearances since joining the club from ZPC(Hwange) mid season last year. Highlanders have been blunt upfront with only midfielder Milton Ncube providing the shining light during a time that the ‘right’ man for the job Njabulo Ncube has not performed to expectation.

Coming in Dube’s place is young Gabriel Nyoni who was on loan to Bulawayo Chiefs who have since taken in Dube.

“I think it’s the right thing for him because he will get more game time and the necessary exposure that will be good for him when he returns to Highlanders,” said coach Kelvin Kaindu.

On Nyoni, the Zambian mentor said the boy needed support from both the players and club supporters.

“He has what it takes but what I want to emphasise is that our supporters should give him the right welcome and support and once that happens I promise you the boy can deliver. Let us not exert too much pressure on him and its really quite unfortunate that he came on board when the team has not been scoring and so our supporters will in a way be a little bit justified to look forward to goals,” said Kaindu.

It could have been the same scenario that affected Dube when he joined Bosso last year as fans expected miracles from him but that pressure somehow seems to have negatively affected him, especially for a player who was joining the family for the first time from a small team and town.

Nyoni, wearing jersey number 27 came in the 64th minute for Njabulo last Sunday when Bosso drew 1-1 with Chicken Inn and showed some brilliant moves especially on his take off.

Highlanders are now lying third on the standings after leading the log for sometime and although they are still very much on course for the championship, their multitude of fans are beginning to be worried about the club’s chances considering the poor scoring record of late.

Meanwhile, sources within the club revealed that daring manoeuvres have been put in motion to land the country’s leading marksmen Tendai Ndoro of Chicken Inn and Osbourne  Mukuradare of Harare City. Ndoro leads the golden boot race with 11 goals while Mukuradare has eight goals.

“The process is already in motion as we speak, some big guns at Highlanders are prepared to help the club secure the services of the pair. I am not sure about Mukuradare but Ndoro’s contract expires at the end of this year meaning Bosso can talk to him directly and then approach Chicken Inn who have the option of either selling him now or watch him go for free next season,” said the source.

Harare giants, Dynamos are also eyeing Ndoro and Mukuradare.
