THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) has summoned Highlanders to appear before a disciplinary committee on allegations of breaching the Chibuku Super Cup rules and regulations in their abandoned Chibuku Super Cup game against Simba Bhora at Wadzanayi Stadium on September 22.
The match was abandoned after 79 minutes after Bosso captain Ariel Sibanda refused to take up his position in Highlanders goal, protesting a decision to award a penalty for Peter Mudhuwa’s foul on Tinashe Balakasi. Television replays showed that the incident happened outside the box.
In a statement on Thursday, the PSL said the hearing will be held in Harare next Tuesday.
“The PSL has received official match reports from Simba Bhora FC, Highlanders FC and the match officials following the abandonment of the Chibuku Super Cup quarterfinal match between the two clubs played at Wadzanayi Stadium on Sunday, 22nd September 2024. In accordance with the Chibuku Super Cup rules and regulations, Highlanders FC has been summoned to appear before the PSL Ad HOC Committee on allegations of breaching the Chibuku Super Cup Rules and Regulations specifically Order 8.88. Causing the abandonment of the Chibuku Super Cup.
The hearing will take place at the PSL offices on Tuesday 1 October 2024 at 17:30 hours.”
