Zim dancehall star Winky D and DJ Flevah are set to stir things up on Friday at Club Horizons in Bulawayo. This would be Winky D’s second visit to the City of Kings and Queens following his successful outing during the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair last April.

An elated DJ Flevah of Judgement Yard promised fans a great time at the show. “Winky D and I are the best buddies and the show will live up to expectations,” he said.

Winky D, born Wallace Chirimuko, and DJ Flevah command a huge following in Bulawayo and the collaboration is more than welcome in a city where house music is a big thing.

The “Musarova Bigman” hitmaker also known by other stage names such as “Biggie” and “Ninja President”, Winky D is a firebrand when it comes to live performances.

It was back in 2002 when Winky D broke out as a DJ from Darkchild Sound System where he partnered selector Garry B.

Two years later, Winky D – as a solo performer – then unleashed his first track titled “Ndiri Rasta” on Bonslag-produced riddim called Luck- spin.

On the other hand, DJ Flevah has been there and done that. He recently appeared on Big Brother Hotshots where he rocked Africa with a cool mix of house, RnB and Zim dancehall. Together with Etherton Beenie, 2Bad, and Abisha Palmer they are collectively known as Judgment Yard which has taken Zim dancehall by storm.

Speaking through his manager, Jonathan Banda, Winky D said the show was a precursor to the Victoria Falls Carnival set for later this month.

“We are going to introduce a new set of instruments at the show. This is because we do not want to give fans the same thing over and over again. We enjoy Bulawayo so much and hopefully fans will attend in their numbers before we move to Victoria Falls,” he said.
