THE Zimbabwe Boxing Federation (ZBF) is set to host the first edition of this year’s Night of Champions tournament at Pagomba Cafe in Beitbridge on April 27.

ZBF technical director Steven Masiyambumbi said preparations for the event are sailing smoothly.

“We are looking forward to the tournament. It’s a good thing we are taking boxing to Matabeleland South where l believe there is vast talent which we need to tap into,” said Masiyambumbi.

Clubs and provinces expected to be part of the tournament will include Black Rhinos, HQ 1 Brigade, 5 Brigade, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Prisons and Correctional Services, Air Force of Zimbabwe, Bulawayo, Harare, Midlands, Victoria Falls Boxing Academy, Manyuchi Boxing Academy, Masvingo, Gwanda and Hwange.

Boxers will compete in both men and women’s categories in what promises to be an exciting event. — @innocentskizoe.
