murder charges.
The juvenile who stabbed his friend to death on Friday, was not formally charged when he appeared before Tsholotsho resident magistrate Mr Toindepi Zhou.
He was remanded in the custody of his mother to 29 December.
The State will seek to prove that the accused stabbed the now deceased with an okapi knife resulting in him dying on the spot.
The accused and the now deceased and another minor met in the bush while herding cattle near Zuzumba stream and he took away a cap the now deceased was wearing.
He then asked for the bearings which the now deceased had but he refused to give him. The accused then allegedly punched both of them twice on the face before leaving the scene.
It is alleged that later in the day at about 5pm, the accused came back armed with an okapi knife and met the two juveniles walking along a small path near a homestead.
The accused reportedly intercepted them and wanted to assault one of the boys who ran away.
The now deceased then held the accused who wanted to chase after the boy.
The accused turned on the now deceased and stabbed him once in the chest.
The now deceased collapsed and died.
The accused reportedly fled the scene. A report was made to the police and the accused was arrested on the same day.
Mr Tawanda Tsatsa prosecuted.
