Boy (15) dies after falling from a moving vehicle

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy died after falling from a moving vehicle at the 90-kilometre peg along the Bulawayo-Tshefunye Road.

The tragic incident occurred on 26 October 2024, when the victim was clinging to the mudguard of a trailer being towed by the vehicle. The driver is said to have not stopped after the boy fell, and investigations are in progress to find him.

National police spokesperson Commissioner, Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident on X.

“A male juvenile (15) died upon admission at a hospital in Tsholotsho after falling from a moving Toyota Hilux vehicle at the 90-kilometer peg along Bulawayo-Tshefunyu Road on 26 October 2024,” said Comm Nyathi.

Comm Nyathi also confirmed another incident of an infant who died after being run over by an Iveco rigid truck that was reversing at Navata Business Centre in Zhombe, Midlands Province.

The incident took place on October 27, 2024, at around 8am.

He implores motorists to exercise extreme caution and thoroughly check their surroundings before reversing.
