HEAVY rainfall with potential of thunderstorms and flooding is expected across central parts of Zimbabwe, the Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has warned.
Some parts of the country, particularly in the east and south, have received significant rainfall over the past 24 hours.
Areas like Zvishavane and Gwanda recorded the highest rainfall at 96mm and 91mm respectively.
In a statement, the weather forecaster said: “The cloud system currently moving over the southern and eastern parts of the country has resulted in heavy rainfall, with the highest rainfall amounts exceeding 50mm in 24 hours.
“Heavy rainfall is likely over much of Masvingo, Midlands, Manicaland and all Matabeleland Provinces.”
