THEY came, they moo’d, they conquered!
Sifela Brahmans, the rising livestock powerhouse from Hamden Farm in Gwanda, stole the show at the just-ended Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) — bagging top gongs in the prestigious Champion Cow and Junior Bull categories.
This marks a hat-trick appearance at ZITF for the ambitious outfit, and this time, they didn’t just show up — they shut it down!
Farm manager Lungani Masuku couldn’t hide his excitement, calling the victory a “game-changer” for their livestock operation.
“Winning at ZITF will certainly change everything for us. This shows that young people are serious about driving agriculture forward,” said Masuku.
The Brahman magic didn’t just wow the judges — it turned heads in high places too. Vice President Kembo Mohadi was spotted deep in conversation with Masuku, amazed that top-tier cattle breeding was coming out of Gwanda.
But the real headline moment? President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Mozambique’s President Danial Chapo dropping by the stand to get the lowdown on the prized beasts.
“President Mnangagwa asked where in Gwanda we’re based and listened to our challenges. We’re on just 35 hectares, which is tight for what we’re doing,” said Masuku.
From rural roots to presidential praise — Sifela Brahmans is proving that Gwanda’s got pedigree!
