A RAGING veld fire believed to have been started by someone clearing a stand in Burnside spiralled out of control and burnt down a mansion
The inferno, which broke out around 11am, saw the Bulawayo Fire Brigade battling towering flames that gutted the property.
All household goods were turned to cinders and a vehicle parked in the garage was swallowed by the blaze.
Neighbours watched in horror as the once-leafy suburban home crumbled into smoke and rubble.
“The fire spread so fast, there was nothing anyone could do. We just saw the house disappearing,” said a witness.
Tragically, the owners of the house are said to be away in Switzerland on holiday, oblivious to the destruction waiting for them back home.
Authorities are still investigating who ignited the fire that sparked the devastating blaze.
