MANICA Diamonds coach, Jairos Tapera, has been sent on forced leave following the club’s string of poor results.
Information gleaned by this newspaper indicate that sending Tapera on forced leave is technically meant to manage contractual labour agreements, and may culminate into the ageing coach being reassigned elsewhere within the club structures when he will no longer have anything to do with managing the affairs of the Premiership side.
Club chairman, Masimba Chihowa, confirmed that Tapera’s assistant, Tafadzwa Mashiri will hold fort.
“It is true, we have sent Jairos Tapera on forced leave, and his assistant, Tafadzwa Mashiri is taking over. This has been done so that we take time to introspect and see how best we can turn things around.
“Everyone associated with Manica Diamonds is not happy with the results that this team has been posting and we have reached a stage where something just has to be done to redress the matter.”
