HIGHLANDERS FC chief executive Denzil Mnkandla had disciplinary proceedings against him withdrawn by the club on Wednesday morning.

The disciplinary authority met on Wednesday morning to deliberate on the matter that was postponed.

At the hearing, the independent prosecutor, Ndabezinhle Mazibuko, advised the hearing panel which was headed by chairman Vusi Vuma with Solomon Mguni the other member.

Mazibuko is said to have advised the house that he takes instructions from the club and acting chairman Kindman Ndlovu confirmed that Highlanders had been advised by institution lawyer Nqobile Sithole to drop the case.

Sithole, is the Highlanders lawyer and was confirmed at the annual general meeting at the beginning of the year.

On August 31, Sithole is alleged to have advised the club to withdraw the charges against the chief executive officer.

After that advice, the club executive met and resolved to abide by Sithole’s position.

However, despite the withdrawal of the charges, Highlanders will continue with criminal charges.

Chairman Vuma, confirmed that the case had since been withdrawn when asked for comment.

Mnkandla is expected to return to the club administration.
