A PELANDABA West woman is in hot water after she allegedly pulled off a bold brick heist — stealing 1 000 bricks in one night from a Pumula South home!
Laizah Ndlovu (50) appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mehluli Moyo facing theft charges after what’s being dubbed one of the most brazen building material busts in recent memory. She was not asked to plead and was remanded pending trial.
According to court papers, on the night of 24 March 2025, the complainant Lisang Mpofu was fast asleep when Ndlovu and her alleged accomplice, Nkosilathi Mpofu (still at large), sneaked into her yard — taking full advantage of a missing perimeter wall.
The duo reportedly hauled away 1 000 bricks, carefully loading them into a getaway vehicle before vanishing into the night.

But their luck didn’t last.
The crime was discovered the next morning and a police report was swiftly filed, sparking an investigation that led to Ndlovu’s arrest. Her alleged partner-in-crime remains on the run.
