KADOMA Bright Future College, trading as Dariro Academy, marked an historic milestone on Wednesday last week with the launch of the Bright Future Driving School.
The College unveiled two training vehicles in a ceremony described by Director Reverend Conwell Mushangwe as “a monumental moment for Dariro Academy.”
Reverend Mushangwe said the new driving school will empower students and the community with essential life skills that promote safety, create employment opportunities, and support Zimbabwe’s growing transport sector.
He highlighted that driving has become an essential modern competency, noting that many industries now require trained drivers and that young people must acquire practical skills to remain competitive in today’s job market.
The director expressed gratitude to the Guest of Honour, District Schools Inspector (DSI) Mr Joseph Majasi, whose presence, he said, demonstrated strong Ministry support for innovative school programmes.
He also thanked ZB Bank, represented by Branch Manager Mr Edward Madziro, for financially backing the initiative, as well as CMED for partnering with the college to ensure high-standard driver training.
The driving school will offer affordable training packages, high pass rates, and disciplined, safety-oriented driver education for both students and community members.
Reverend Mushangwe added that the institution aims to expand the initiative into a fully-fledged vocational training department, offering defensive and professional driving courses.
“This driving school is more than a service—it is a legacy,” he said. “Take advantage of this opportunity and let it open new doors for your future.”
Bright Future College Principal, Pastor Luckson Disimasi, said the institution is celebrating a major milestone in its journey of embracing Education 5.0.
He emphasised that the college remains committed to the national development mantra championed by His Excellency, President Emmerson Mnangagwa—nyika inovakwa nevene vayo, brick by brick.
“By 2026, our goal is that every child who comes to Bright Future College should leave high school holding a driver’s licence.
“We are proud to be the FIRST to take this bold step. All things are possible when we unite and work together for a common cause,” he said.
Speaking at the ceremony, Guest of Honour DSI Joseph Majasi hailed Bright Future College for attaining a remarkable milestone, noting that the institution is now the third in the province and the very FIRST in Sanyati District—to establish its own driving school.
“You are leading by example. Keep up the excellent work. I am truly proud of you as your district leader,” he said.
DSI Majasi said the development was not only historic but also inspiring for other schools.
“In our next headmasters’ meeting, we are going to parade these vehicles so that every school head sees that this is real and achievable.”
He also commended the initiative for aligning with the Government’s Vision 2030 and the Heritage-Based Curriculum (Education 5.0), which prioritises imparting practical life skills to learners.
“You are right in line with the national vision of producing empowered, skilled, and innovative young people,” he said.
ZB Bank Kadoma Branch Manager, Mr Madziro, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting viable community initiatives.
“As ZB Bank, we are here to support bankable business ideas. When Dariro Academy approached us with their proposal, we took time to assess its feasibility.
“After engaging with the team, we were fully convinced by their vision and professionalism. We therefore agreed to finance the programme. I wish them all the best, they are truly innovative,” he said.
Bright Future College SDC spokesperson, Thembinkosi Ranganawa Mpofu, expressed profound appreciation for the newly-launched driving school, describing it as a milestone achievement for both the institution and the community.
Head Girl, Shalisha Musiyanhanje, said:
“The driving school has empowered us with practical life skills. I’m proud to be at a school that invests in our future and opens new opportunities for us.”
Mrs Tatenda Musevenzo, a proud parent at Bright Future College, expressed her joy and admiration for the launch.
“I’m truly proud and impressed by the Bright Future Driving School. It’s encouraging to see such initiatives that empower our youth with practical life skills.
“This is a great step towards building responsible and independent young drivers. I wish the school continued growth and success,” she said.
Boys Dzamdara provincial chairman, Cde Andrew Mugabe, praised Bright Future College for its progressive initiative.
He urged learners to shun substance abuse and remain focused on acquiring practical life skills that will secure their future.
Cde Mugabe applauded the Government’s Vision 2030 and the Education 5.0 model, noting that such programmes equip young people with vital competencies that empower them to contribute meaningfully to national development.
