THE Zimbabwe Building Contractors Association (ZBCA) will launch a women’s desk on May 30 this year.

First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa is expected to grace the event as guest of honour.

ZBCA chief executive officer Mr Chrispen Tsvarai said the women’s desk will increase their participation in the construction sector.

“Traditionally, the construction industry is a male-dominated area. Through the establishment of the women’s desk, we are promoting the active participation of women in the construction sector,” he said.

According to the ZBCA, 20 construction companies are led by women.

After launching the women’s desk, the association will also launch desks for both youths and the disabled.
