Bulawayo and Mat South collide in Chibuku Road to Fame musical showdown

Bulawayo is the place to be today as the Chibuku Road to Fame provincial competition is taking place at KoNjabulo Elangeni Beer Garden in Tshabalala suburb, bringing together some of the region’s most promising musical talent.

In an exciting twist, this year’s edition merges Bulawayo and Matabeleland South provinces, setting the stage for an electrifying battle where 20 groups will go head-to-head for a coveted ticket to the national finals set for October 4.

The day kicked off with 10 groups from Bulawayo setting the tone, followed by 10 outfits from Matabeleland South after lunch, ensuring a full day of non-stop rhythm and energy.

Bulawayo’s lineup is a vibrant mix of genres, featuring Melodious Band (Sungura), The Full Moon (Afro Jazz), The Royal Band (Afro Jazz), Mighty Sounds (Sungura), Ice Cream (Afro Pop), Juluka Stars (Jit), Amani Pulse (Afro-Fusion), The DAB Band (Afro-Fusion), Sungura Vibes (Sungura), and Mystical Abstraction Synergies (Afro Fusion).

Matabeleland South is equally stacked with talent, with bands –Bolamba Culture Birds, Umfana Wodumo Band, Luduhambo Express Band, Maqedimbuzi and Malunga Brothers Band, Gazilemvu Masgandi Band, Butter Jam Express Band, Siyabangena Stars, Nqameni Super Stars, Insiza Express Band, and Mukanoni Pride Band.
