BULAWAYO Chiefs, assistant coach Agent Sawu and captain Melikhaya Ncube have been sanctioned by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) following incidents of disorderly conduct after their Chibuku Super Cup first-round match against Hardrock at Chahwanda Stadium on Sunday.

The PSL announced the sanctions yesterday, saying the three were charged under Order 15 of its Standing Orders, Offences and Fines.

Under Order 15, clubs, officials and players are prohibited from engaging in conduct before, during or after a match that disrupts the orderly proceedings of a game.

The regulations cover violent or aggressive acts, damage to equipment and other forms of unbecoming behaviour.

As a result, Bulawayo Chiefs have been fined US$2000, while Sawu and Ncube were each handed a US$500 fine.

The sanctions come after the events that followed the Chibuku Super Cup encounter, in which Chiefs faced Hardrock in the first round of the competition.

In a statement, the PSL said it remained committed to ensuring discipline and professionalism at its matches.

“The Premier Soccer League remains committed to maintaining discipline, professionalism and respect at all its matches,” the league said
