adminTHE highly anticipated Southern Region Division One top of the table clash between Bulawayo Chiefs and Bulawayo City played at Fairbridge ended in a goalless stalemate as the two teams failed to breach each other’s defence.
The result ensured City remains at the summit of the log with Chiefs on second spot while ZPC Hwange is still third after falling to Black Boots 2-1 at home.
The Chiefs and City game was a closely contested affair with both teams creating several chances but they failed to find the back of the nets.
The two team’s technical departments were content with the result with Chiefs’ coach, Thulani “Thuts” Sibanda describing it as a fair result while City’s assistant coach, Farai Mujokoro felt it was a good result for his side as they snatched a point away from home.
Sibanda rued the chances they missed adding it was anyone’s game as City had the upper hand in the first half while his team was better in the second half.
“It was a 50/50 game they the upper hand in the first half while we were better than them after the break. I feel it is a fair result for both teams,” he said.
Mujokoro felt snatching a point away was crucial.
“It was a good result considering the fact we were playing away from home and Chiefs are a good side. They put up a good fight but I am glad we were equal to the task and taking a point away is good for us,” he said.
In other matches played yesterday, Technosphere beat Mpumalanga 3-1 in a game played in Hwange while Ntabazinduna defeated Old Nic Mine 1-0 in Ntabazinduna, Hwange Under-20 fell 2-1 to visiting Casmyn while Nust again lost 1-0 to Indlovu Iyanyathela.
