Bulawayo is this Friday hosting a high-level regional digital economy indaba, taking centre stage in Zimbabwe’s push towards a technology-driven future.
The Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services is hosting the 2026 Digital Economy Conference, which has brought together policymakers, industry leaders, innovators and development partners from across the region.

The indaba, led by ICT Minister, Dr Tatenda Mavetera is seeking to place Zimbabwe’s digital transformation agenda firmly in focus.
Adding regional weight to the gathering is Rwanda’s Minister of ICT and Innovation, Paula Ingabire, who is attending as Guest of Honour.
Her presence highlights strengthening collaboration among African nations in leveraging technology to accelerate economic growth and innovation.

Discussions at the conference are centring on key pillars including digital infrastructure development, expansion of e-government services, and the growth of innovation ecosystems aimed at empowering youth.
The indaba also presents Zimbabwe with an opportunity to benchmark its progress against Rwanda, widely regarded as one of Africa’s leading digital economies.
