A 28-year-old man from Old Magwegwe suburb in Bulawayo was arrested for possession of a toy gun at a local nightclub last Sunday night.

Tafadzwa Mugova, who is unemployed, found himself in trouble with the law after security personnel at the nightclub searched and found him with what they believed to be a real gun.
“Police received a report that a man had been found in possession of a gun whilst trying to enter a night club in Old Magwewe suburb and officers attended the scene.
“The suspect was apprehended by nightclub security who were searching patrons entering the establishment,” said Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele.
“Police officers who attended the scene observed that it was a pistol sized metal pellet gun with a magazine and one pellet ball,”

According to Insp Msebele when the suspect was interrogated by police he said he bought the toy gun at the Harare Agricultural Show last year.
“The suspect told police officers that he went to the night club to look for his brother who had left with the house keys. He was arrested and investigations are in progress,”
