Bulawayo man’s allegations lead to arrest of wife

Sunday News Reporter

A Bulawayo man, Mthandazo Mkandla, a prominent supporter of the ruling Zanu-PF party, has reportedly caused the arrest of his wife, Memory Ndlovu, on allegations of being involved in a lesbian relationship with a local hair salon owner, Metric Zulu.

The situation has sparked outrage and concern among family and community members.

According to a police source, Mkandla claimed to have received information regarding the alleged relationship between Ndlovu and Zulu, asserting that the couple had been involved for some time.

“Mkandla informed us that he had tried to warn them about their relationship, but they were insistent and refused to listen,” the police source stated. “As a result, we acted on the allegations and arrested Ndlovu.”

The source also revealed that they had issued summons for Zulu’s arrest; however, she has since gone into hiding. “We are actively searching for Zulu, who has evaded our attempts to apprehend her,” the police source added.

As news of the arrest spread, relatives of Ndlovu expressed their deep concern for her well-being, especially since Zulu’s disappearance leaves her to face the consequences alone.

“We are worried for our daughter,” said a family member who wished to remain anonymous. “She is now left to deal with the situation on her own, while her partner has vanished. We tried to engage Mkandla, but he openly boasted that he would not rest until he brought the two to book.”

The incident has ignited discussions about personal freedoms and the implications of such allegations in a society where LGBTQ+ rights remain a contentious issue.

As the community grapples with the fallout of this situation, many are left questioning the motivations behind Mkandla’s actions and the impact on Ndlovu’s future.

Authorities continue their investigation as they search for Metric Zulu, while Memory Ndlovu remains in custody, facing an uncertain fate amid allegations that have divided opinions in the community.
