PREPARATIONS are underway for the Liquor Hub 10km Fun Run, scheduled to take place in Bulawayo during the second week of next month.
The event, a staple on the athletics calendar, attracts top athletes nationwide and is sponsored by Liquor Hub Wholesale Centre.
Bulawayo Athletics Board (Bab) chairperson, Watson Madanyika, confirmed the event’s preparations are progressing well.
“We’ve begun engaging with our sponsors and look forward to another successful Liquor Hub 10km Fun Run.
“We’ll confirm the dates soon. This traditional event closes our year, and we’re happy to have it again.”

Modi has previously supported charitable causes, including purchasing air tickets for two children to undergo heart surgery in India and covering their treatment expenses.
Meanwhile, preparations for the Cimas iGO half marathon on November 24 at Bulawayo Athletic Club are advancing.
The event promotes health, wellness and mental health awareness, addressing a critical issue in Zimbabwe.
Madanyika expressed his excitement ahead of the event, expecting top athletes to participate.
“We appreciate our sponsors’ support for athletics. Registration for the five kilometre, 10km and 21km races is $US15.”
Last year’s inaugural 21km race was won by Thabo Mapfumo and Abigail Musarurwa. Mapfumo completed the men’s race in 1:16:33, while Musarurwa won the women’s race in 1:47:00.
