Bulawayo Province to Issue Drug Abuse Response Update

THE Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Bulawayo Metropolitan Province, Cde Judith Ncube, is this Monday morning expected to outline progress made in the fight against drug and substance abuse in the province.
The briefing, is expected to provide an update on interventions implemented during the second half of June 2026, as well as the challenges and ongoing efforts aimed at curbing drug and substance abuse in Bulawayo.
Her address will focus on measures being taken by Government and stakeholders to strengthen prevention, rehabilitation and community awareness programmes amid growing concern over the impact of drugs on youths and families.
Cde Ncube is also expected to outline areas requiring further support and collaboration as authorities intensify efforts to tackle the scourge.
Drug and substance abuse remains one of the major social challenges facing the province, with Government departments, law enforcement agencies, health institutions, churches and community organisations working together to address the problem through education campaigns, rehabilitation initiatives and enforcement operations.
