Bulawayo records 6 new Covid-19 cases

Bulawayo has recorded six new Covid-19 cases, part of 14 cases that were recorded countrywide yesterday.

The Ministry of Health and Child Care said all the new cases have been put under isolation.

13 cases were reported from local transmissions while one case was of a person returning from South Africa.

The Ministry said two of the local transmission cases were linked to known confirmed Covid-19 patients while the source of infection for 11 new cases remains unknown.

“14 cases tested positive for Covid-19 today. These include a returnee from South Africa and 13 local cases who are all isolated.  A total of 265 Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDT) and 380 PCR tests were done countrywide bringing the total number of tests done so far to 6 8 400, consisting of 37 309   RDT and 31 091 PCR tests,” reads the statement from the health ministry.

166 people have so far recovered from the virus while the number of deaths remains at seven.
