Bulawayo rolls out the red carpet for queen, Virginia

After competing at the Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2026 grand finale this past weekend, Virginia Nyambe is set to return home to Bulawayo on Wednesday, June 10, as the newly crowned Miss Intercontinental Zimbabwe 2026.

The beauty queen, a Great Zimbabwe University alumna, is expected to arrive in the city at 12:30pm, with residents and supporters being encouraged to turn out in their numbers to give her a hero’s welcome and celebrate her achievement.

The celebrations will continue later in the day with a welcome cocktail scheduled for 6pm at a local restaurant in her honour.

Nyambe was among seven contestants who walked away with national titles at the Miss Universe Zimbabwe pageant held in Harare on Saturday. The competition featured 18 contestants drawn from different parts of the country.

Her crowning as Miss Intercontinental Zimbabwe 2026 marks a significant milestone in her pageantry journey and has earned her the opportunity to represent Zimbabwe on the international stage.
