Bulawayo Woman bashes rival over jacket in nasty love triangle

THERE was drama in Pumula East when a furious woman allegedly attacked her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend over a jacket, leaving her bruised and battered!

Thobekile Ngwenya found herself in the dock before magistrate Mehluli Moyo, facing assault charges after allegedly pouring an unknown substance on Thandolwenkosi Ncube before kicking and stomping her leg in a fit of rage.

Ngwenya, however, pleaded not guilty, claiming she was the real victim. She told the court that Ncube confronted her, accused her of wearing her old jacket, and even insulted her by saying she had AIDS.

But Ncube had a different story. She claimed she had simply approached her ex-boyfriend to ask for her jacket back but got no response. Later, as she sat at the shops, she said Ngwenya came charging at her with a bottle, poured a liquid on her, and launched a brutal attack.

“She pushed me down, kicked me, and stomped on my leg,” Ncube told the court.

The altercation, which happened on 22 February at around 9 PM, ended with Ngwenya’s arrest after Ncube reported the matter to the police.

The case has been remanded to tomorrow as the court determines whether this was a jealous lover’s rage or just an unfortunate accident.
