Bullets hopeful

COMMANDO Bullets will be hoping for better fortunes when they host Chegutu Pirates tomorrow at Commando as the World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league resumes after a week-long break.
The army side lost 0-1 to struggling Pirates in the reverse fixture last month at Pfupajena and Commando team manager, John Mandaza, said they will be out for a win. Mandaza said they will be banking their hopes on new signings, who include midfielder Taurai Kadyausavi, who returned to the club from Seven Flames during the window period.

“This is a return fixture so we should try and make sure we collect maximum points. We lost to Chegutu Pirates away from home. But it wasn’t a bad loss but we should make sure we get three points here.

“The introduction of new youngsters is something that should boost the team. I think for the second round with these youngsters the tables will turn around in our favour. This home match we are going to win. We have to win and we are prepared for the game, “ said Mandaza.

However, it will be a tough encounter as Chegutu Pirates, who are second from bottom, have vowed to fight all the way in this second half of the season to avoid relegation. Royal Classic take on Seven Flames at Tsungubvi tomorrow.

Royal Classic are languishing at the bottom of the table but club director, Ranganai Chatura, insists they will bounce back. “In the second half we should be okay since we managed to draw our last game. We hope this weekend we will win. We need to fight relegation.

“I believe we can survive.”
