THE City of Harare has reduced water production and supply to most of the northern side of the city due to a major water pipe burst at Warren Control.
In a statement, the City said the maintenance was necessary to make sure that when complete, the capital will be able to supply more water to its residents.
It also said that work should be completed within the next few days.
“This serves to notify residents of a major water pipe burst at Warren Control water distribution point which supplies water to mostly the northern side of the city.
“It is the water distribution point which supplies water to mostly the Northern side of the City.
“As a result, the supply of water has been affected in areas like CBD, Warren Park, Dzivarasekwa, Westlea, and Avondale.
“Our engineers are working flat out on the pipe burst with a target of restoring supplies soon.
“The maintenance is necessary to make sure that when complete, we will be able to produce more water.
“We expect the major maintenance work to be completed in the next few days.
“The City of Harare will keep residents informed on the issue.
“We apologise for the inconveniences caused because of the limited supplies of water.”
