The 36-member association conferred awards last Thursday on various categories to their members and employees who would have excelled.
The categories included the best driver, conductor, loader and operator of the year, best timekeeper, consistent operator of the year and most improved operator of the year among other categories.
Other categories were the best operator in various routes such as South Africa, Zambia, Malawi, among others.
CBOA chief executive officer, Mr Alex Kautsiro said by introducing the awards, passengers will be assured of the best possible service available.
“The objective of the association is to create a conducive environment for operators who do business in the Sadc region and offer world-class service to passengers,” said Mr Kautsiro.
“These awards are a way of recognising those members who have done well.”
He said one of the challenges operators are facing was that of over subscription of routes, particularly the South Africa and Zambia routes.
“We have been encouraging our members to consider other untapped routes such as Mozambique and the Democratic Republic of Congo among others,” he said.
Officers from the ZRP traffic section, VID, among others, constituted the adjudicators.
