Government has implemented a raft of major reforms under various national economic blueprints, with the Second National Development Strategy (NDS2) now being rolled out as part of efforts to accelerate industrialisation and improve livelihoods, President Mnangagwa said.

In a speech read on his behalf by National Housing and Social Amenities Minister Professor Paul Mavima at the Oxford Properties ground-breaking ceremony in Harare today, President Mnangagwa said industries, private sector and businesses should take advantage of Zimbabwe’s abundant resources and reforms being implemented.

“We have effected a raft of major reforms in various national economic blueprints, with the Second National Development Strategy now under implementation,” he said.

“Industries and businesses that leverage our rich local endowment are being continually strengthened.”

He said Government was also working to build stronger synergies with stakeholders through greater responsiveness and dialogue.

The President described the private sector as a vital partner in the country’s development agenda, adding that collaboration between Government and business was essential for achieving sustainable economic growth.

“Government is ensuring stronger synergies with stakeholders, anchored on responsiveness and dialogue,” the President added.

“The private sector is a vital partner in the current national development agenda.”

The President said that under the Zimbabwe is Open for Business policy, Government continues to strengthen the ease-of-doing-business environment to attract both domestic and foreign investment.

President Mnangagwa said the reforms were designed to create mutually beneficial investment opportunities while supporting the country’s broader industrialisation and economic transformation drive.

In February this year, President Mnangagwa officially opened Aspire Heights, a modern, gated residential estate developed by Oxford Properties.
