BUSTED & BAILED! Highlanders & Bulawayo Chiefs execs’ US$5K Transfer Scandal rages on

Peter Matika – Online Reporter

FORMER Highlanders Football Club CEO Brian Busani Moyo and Bulawayo Chiefs administrator Andrew Mandigora have been granted bail after landing in hot water over a murky player transfer deal that allegedly saw them pocketing thousands.

The duo appeared in court on Saturday facing fraud charges linked to a dodgy transaction involving the transfer of two players to Highlanders.

Bulawayo magistrate Beverly Madzikatire granted the pair US$200 bail each and ordered them to report to the police once a week, not interfere with State witnesses, and remain at their stated addresses. The matter was remanded to April 28.

At the centre of the storm is a US$5 000 shortfall from the US$23 000 recorded in Highlanders’ books for the transfer. Shockingly, only US$18 000 made it to the Bulawayo Chiefs’ account.

Two conflicting invoices have emerged: one showing the full amount received by Highlanders, and another – slashed by US$5 000 – presented to the Chiefs.

Sources allege Moyo pocketed US$2 000, while Mandigora helped himself to US$3 000 from the deal.

The case has rocked the local football community, with fans demanding transparency and accountability in club dealings.

The trial continues.
