Busy Signal speaks out on sacked manager

The Jamaican music world was stunned upon hearing Busy’s announcement that he and Shane Brown would no longer have a manager-client relationship as the singjay’s brother will assume managerial duties.

Now Busy Signal has come forward to set the record straight about his recent decision and relationship with Brown following the announcement.
In an interview on CVM’s  “OnStage” aired on Saturday night, Busy told Winford Williams: “Wi grow ova the years and di ting reach to a level where mi just need dat hands on, 100 percent  overall sommen deh bout my ting . . . my brothers now, they’re here, they’re ready fi support, ready fi join up the team. It’s the Turf Musik Entertainment and is just unda my owna regime . . . is not like there’s a bad vibe between me and Shane.”

He also described his meeting with Brown to inform him of this decision as “tense”, saying: “We been through all wah wi been through since ’07, verbally wid di respect and everything       . . . Shane been more than a manager.”

The entertainer struck a verbal agreement with Brown in 2007 to manage him after he dispensed of Julian Jones-Griffiths, Mavado’s long-time manager and his ex-manager prior to 2007. Busy didn’t hold back on his feelings about Griffiths.

“Him try fi use one likkle half a education sommen wah him probably have and manipulate and go ‘round and den we as di artiste, we nuh really go in-depth,” he said. “Artist in Jamaica, most a win uh really go in-depth inna wi business part a life.”

Meanwhile, Busy is scheduled to leave the island this week for an extended comeback tour across Europe, parts of Oceania, Africa and the Middle East, a tour scheduled to end in November, with a few breaks in between.  — Examiner.
